FAQ

HOW AND WHERE DO I SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR SPAYING AND NEUTERING SERVICES?

The application is exclusively online and open to the City of Fresno and  Fresno County residents for dogs only. Find it under the 'Spay and Neuter' tab on our website. Please thoroughly review all application details before applying.

HOW MUCH DOES SPAYING AND NEUTERING COST AND WHAT IS THE DISCOUNT OFFERED?

A co-pay fee will be charged per dog for our spay/neuter program. The fee varies based on:

  • Dog's size

  • Gender

  • Residency status

  • Appointment location

While you cover the co-pay, California Spay will handle the remainder of the standard veterinary clinic charges. Our ability to sustain this program at a discounted rate is made possible through dedicated grant support and successful fundraising efforts.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL WAIT TIME FOR AN APPOINTMENT WITH CALIFORNIA SPAY?

Appointment availability varies. We receive a list of fill-in appointments from our vet offices, specifying slots for Female/Male and Large/Small Breed. We allocate appointments based on the information provided in the applications.

WHEN WILL THERE BE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE FOR FEMALES?

We schedule appointments for females every week. Due to a high volume of female applications, there is an extensive waiting list.

WHO ARE THE VETERINARIANS PERFORMING THE SPAY/NEUTER PROCEDURES FOR MY DOGS?

We collaborate with multiple reputable veterinarians in Fresno, CA, for the procedures. To respect the privacy of our veterinary partners and prevent any disruptions to their operations, specific information and location details will be provided upon scheduling your appointment. We appreciate your understanding in minimizing inquiries directly to the veterinary practices.
